Destination

I never really connected with the saying "what would you do if you knew you could not fail?". I guess that is because I don't much like the word fail (defined as- to prove deficient or lacking).

I think I have found the equivalent of that saying, in terms that I can get behind.

"What would you do if you knew that the universe would continue to provide for you?" (I get excited when I think of my answer)

The universe is abundant, not lacking. It always provides for us, and always has. Although sometimes it may not turn out the way that we had in mind. If you expect that things will always work according to your highest good and the highest good of others, then I am pretty sure that means that you will always end up exactly where you should be-- satisfied, at peace, and happy.

So if no matter what you do you will end up exactly where you should be, then why not always do the things that make you happy?

I ask you, "What would you do if you knew that the universe would continue to provide for you?"

Release

Sincere forgiveness isn't colored with expectations that the other person apologize or change. Don't worry whether or not they finally understand you. Love them and release them. Life feeds back truth to people in its own way and time. Realize that now, in this moment of time, you are creating. You are creating your next moment. That is what's real.
- Sara Paddison

I have been ruminating about the concept of forgiveness. All levels of forgiveness, from forgiving things that are deemed unacceptable to things that are merely a minor infraction. I find that if I am really going to practice forgiveness with one person, then why not all people?

Wikipedia describes Forgiveness as the mental, emotional and spiritual process of ceasing to feel resentment towards a person that has wronged you. It’s ceasing to demand punishment or restitution.

Whether or not you choose to associate with that person in the future is up to you. Forgiveness is a choice.

Sounds simple. Sounds peaceful. Sounds like something that a happy person does.

Everything

Nothing happens, nothing happens, nothing happens, and then everything happens.
- Fay Weldon

I am the type of person who always seems to be busy. In fact, I tend to operate best when I have more than a reasonable amount on my plate. Most of the time, when I find myself with not a lot going on, I am able to take full advantage by tackling a creative project that has been gnawing at me. But occasionally, the downtime can turn into confusion, uncertainty, or worse, boredom. When I find myself flirting with the dreaded boredom, I have to remind myself of this little Fay Weldon quote, it is so true.

Form

The art of living does not consist in preserving and clinging to a particular mode of happiness, but in allowing happiness to change its form without being disappointed by the change. Happiness, like a child, must be allowed to grow up.

A ship in harbor is safe-but that is not what ships are built for.
- John Shedd

When we were children, we used to think that when we were grown-up we would no longer be vulnerable. But to grow up is to accept vulnerability... To be alive is to be vulnerable.
